TED Talk by Peter Weyland (2023) [Edited]
Original Prometheus Viral Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EVFrSuyA-c
Fire was a gift from the titan Prometheus, a gift that he stole from the gods! And Prometheus was caught and brought to justice for his theft. The gods... well, you might say they overreacted. The poor man was tied to a rock, as an eagle ripped thru his belly and ate his liver, over and over, day after day. All because he gave us fire, our first true piece of technology. Fire.
100,000 B.C.: Stone tools. 4,000 B.C.: The wheel. 9th century A.D.: Gunpowder. 19th century: Eureka! The light bulb! 20th century: The automobile, television, nuclear weapons, spacecraft, Internet. 21st century: Biotech, nanotech, fusion and fission, and M-theory. And THAT was just the first decade!
We are now three months into the Year of Our Lord 2023. At this moment in our civilization, we can create cybernetic individuals--who, in just a few short years, will be completely indistinguishable from us--which leads to an obvious conclusion: We are the gods now.
For those of you who know me, you will be aware by now that my ambition is unlimited. You know that I will settle for nothing short of greatness or I will die trying. For those of you who do not yet know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Peter Weyland, and if you'd indulge me, I'd like to change the world.

"The Making of a Violent Cyborg Heart"
You and I, we may look the same
But we are very far apart
There's bullet holes where my compassion used to be
And there is violence in my heart
Into fire you can send us
From the fire we return
You can label us a consequence
Of how much you'll have to learn
Hitohi hitoyo ni tsuki wa terazutomo
The moon fails to shine down on either day or night
Kanashimi ni nuetori naku
And the night bird calls out in sadness
A ga kaeri misuredo hana wa chirinubeshi
When I turn to look, the flowers had all fallen away
Nagusamuru kokoro wa kenuru ga gotoku
It was as if all comfort had vanished from the world
Aratayo ni kamutsudoite
As the gods leave to gather in the new world
Yo wa ake nuetori naku
Day breaks, and the night bird calls out
Saku hana wa kami ni koinomu
The blossoms beseech the gods
Ikeru yo ni a ga mi kanashimo
"Even though in this world we may know grief and suffering,"
Ime wa kenu uramite chiru
"Our dreams shall never die," and they fall from the branch in anger.
You have set something in motion
Much greater than you've ever known
Standing there in all your grand naivete
About to reap what you have sown
Time will feed upon your weaknesses
And soon you'll lose the will to care
When you return to the place that you call home
We will be there...
We will be there...

As long as we keep fire under control, it serves us well. Although fire under control may be helpful to us in many ways, fire handled carelessly may cause trouble. Some fires start from faulty wiring. The fire burns as long as their is fuel and oxygen.

"When one becomes like a revengeful ghost and shows great determination, though his head is cut off, he should not die. [...] Our bodies are given life from the midst of nothingness. [...] Emptiness is form. [...] Form is emptiness. [...] One should not think that these are two separate things." ~Forest Whitaker, quoting the "Hagakure", from the movie "Ghost Dog" (1999)

T-Bird: "I know you... I know you. I knew I knew you. I knew I knew you. But you ain't you. You can't be you. We put you through the window. There ain't no coming back. This is the really real world. There ain't no coming back. We killed you dead! There ain't no coming back! There ain't no coming back. There ain't no coming back! There ain't no coming back!"
Brandon Lee [quoting The Sheltering Sky]: "Because we do not know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well, and yet everything happens only a certain number of times... and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood? [...] Perhaps four, five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many more time will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless."
